augmented reality, 2024
This curated exhibition interrogates the intersection of reality and artistic imagination. Contemporary Art Space (CAS) presents "Augmented Reality," running from December 1-22, 2024, featuring works by five distinguished contemporary artists who each offer unique perspectives on transforming perceived reality.
The exhibition's titular concept extends beyond technological augmentation, instead exploring how artistic interpretation can fundamentally alter our understanding of reality. The featured artists each contribute distinct methodologies to this discourse:
Kenan Hasimbegovic, the Antwerp-based artist, constructs complex abstract compositions that synthesize quotidian objects with profound explorations of identity
Manon De Craene translates ephemeral observations into dynamic canvases that challenge traditional compositional boundaries
Katrien Orlans, the Bruges photographer and visual artist, creates compelling diptychs that investigate duality and parallel realities
Hilde Goossens employs a distinctive combination of text and imagery, utilising subdued chromatic palettes to craft narratives that traverse both visual and literary domains
Diederik Boyen implements sophisticated layering techniques to create works that exist in an intriguing space between representation and abstraction
